Pergola Patio Table

We took the wood from a pergola that had been attached to the back of the house and made it into a dining table on our patio. The pergola had been over our back door but it felt like it enclosed our backyard. We took our the pergola and used the wood to create a dining table we’ve use dozens of times for dining with friends.
The pergola attached to the back of our house was in bad shape and didn’t provide much shade because it faced north. And I felt like it blocked us from enjoying the big trees in our backyard.
My wife and I took it down and set aside the wood for a year or so. I got motivated to put together a table for the stamped concrete patio we had put in. We love to entertain and this was going to be a great addition.
I ran all the 4′ x 4′ pieces and 2′ x 8″ pieces through the planer to get rid of the old white paint. I kept some of the paint on it to help with the rustic feel of the table. I then put it together with screws, glue, and biscuits. I used leftover paint that I diluted with water and then sanded it down some. I put four coats of oil-based polyurethane on the top and the legs.
The table seats six people comfortable but can easily add a couple of other chairs when the need arises.
